Former Love Island and Geordie Shore star Sam Gowland shared some shocking footage from Dubai before a reported missile attack on the Fairmont Hotel on the Palm Jumeirah. Iranian missiles have been targeting the United Arab Emirates just hours after the US and Israel embarked on an air assault targeting the Iranian regime.

The US and Israel launched strikes on targets in several Iranian cities on Saturday, just hours after US President Donald Trump told them “surrender or face a certain death”. Sharing footage on his Instagram Story to his just under 1million followers, Sam shared footage of rockets in the sky while he was on the beach, as he said: “Wow… No we’ll have to go. That’s two or three now,” as he captioned it: “Right above us on the Palm in Dubai today, bloody scary I tell you that, never heard a noise like it before.”Sam Gowland on Instagram

He later shared more videos of rockets above him as he panicked: “What the f*** is that? I’ve got it on video. F***ing hell,” before adding: “Rocket above my house, WTF this is crazy.”

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has issued an urgent “shelter in place” directive for British citizens currently residing in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.

“British nationals should immediately shelter in place. They should remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities,” the statement read.

His post came just hours after his fellow Love Island star Laura Anderson, who is in Dubai with her daughter Bonnie. Laura shared an update with her fans as she panned: “Horrendous situation. Bonnie and I are fine,” alongside a white heart emoji.

Merely hours earlier, she had been uploading cheerful footage of their arrival and a “freezing” pool at their lodgings.

The situation continues to be highly unstable, with thousands of Western expats and holidaymakers-including celebrities such as Kate and Rio Ferdinand and Amir Khan-trapped in the lockdown areas.
